‘Fantastic Four’ Casting: Michael B. Jordan Slams Internet Trolls

Michael B. Jordan is not happy about the way the internet has reacted over his casting as Johnny Storm or Human Torch in “Fantastic Four” reboot. He didn’t want to go to the internet after the casting, but then he finally checked.

Jordan in an op-ed for Entertainment Weekly titled “Michael B. Jordan: Why I’m Torching the Color Line” wrote that he wanted to know how people are reacting. He added that he did not want to be ignorant about the world’s reaction.

“Turns out this is what they were saying: “A black guy? I don’t like it. They must be doing it because Obama’s president” and “It’s not true to the comic.”” The actor wrote now it doesn’t bother him as it is a matter of perspective. However, he stated that the world in 2015 is more diverse compared to 1961 when the first issue of “Fantastic Four” was released.

He also wrote that some people might think that his casting in “Fantastic Four” reboot movie as “political correctness or an attempt to meet a racial quota.” Jordan mentioned that it is a family movie revolving around the lives of four friends.

Like a superhero in real life, Jordan wrote that sometimes you have to become the person who is ready to take it up for the coming generations. He wrote that he is ready to take up that responsibility.

Jordan also wants to be an example. He wrote that after this Hollywood might start accepting “more people of colour” in different important roles.

He also has a message for internet trolls. Jordan wants them to move away from the computer and take a walk around. He wants them to look at people, their friends and understand that this is the world that they live in and it is okay to be a part of it.
