Fappening: Message Board Posters Belittle Nude Photo Leakers As D-Listers Seeking Publicity

During the first few incidents involving the hacked nude selfies of celebrities, actresses who naked photos were leaked didn't need any further introduction, except to list their names since they are certified A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence.

However, in an indicator that the Fappening is bound to die a natural death, message posters at subreddit pages and 4chan even belittle that so-called victims of the later editions of the Fappening are actually non-celebrities but wannabees or D-listers who stage manage to "leaked" they naked photos to be talked about.

NoNameFits, a user on the subreddit/r/fappeningdiscussion, wrote, quoted by The Daily Beast, "Now, with nothing significant floating to the top in this long time, it seems like the well has run dry."

The newspaper noted that the last batch of Fappening victims leaked on Oct 13 was made up of virtual unknowns such as Wailana Geisen who has one show credit to her name - My Roommate, Dawn Jaro who is an Instagram model, Ashley Blakenship, the sales assistant #1 in The Wolf of Wall Street and one female with zero acting credits.

Even Lindsay Clubine, a Deal or No Deal briefcase girl married to an athlete, is relatively an unknown.

The slowdown of nude leaks could be attributed to the threat of a $100 million lawsuit from famous barrister Marty Singer as well as the message boards themselves removing the downloadable files which used to be shared through Volafile, a free online file-sharing site in Germany.

Although the FBI has yet to pinpoint responsibility for the hacks believed to have been done through iCloud, the Apple service required a two-factor authentication system, password and another layer of verification though a 4-digit code sent to the iCloud user's iPhone through SMS to gain access to a backup folder.

However, hackers and nude photo lovers are just waiting by the sidelines for the furor to settle down and the celebrities to become complacent, and Fappening stands a chance of returning with a vengeance featuring true A-listers, not wannabees seeking their 15 minutes of fame.

Even some of the A-listers are observed to be profiting from their exposure, said the Web site Tapscape, which noted: "Of the young women depicted. I'd bet at least one is plotting to take advantage of the pictures (options are being sold as we speak) to push their careers forward. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian weren't shy about using their bits to launch their careers."
