Despite Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard denying claims that they aren't officially dating, fans of "Fifty Shades" still think that they're the "top couple" to play the part of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey respectively. Given Skarsgard has long been eyed for the role of Grey, should his co-star from "The East" portray the part of Anastasia Steele as well?

Before fan favourites Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill were eyed for the part of Christian Grey, Alexander Skarsgard of "True Blood" had long been named a possible actor for the role. Given his grey eyes and brooding looks as Eric Northman, it's not questionable as to why Alex has won over hearts in countless polls for the part of Christian. Another plus is Alexander's interview back in 2012 where he claims he was "born to play the role."

"He's got a sex chamber? My character has that on True Blood. He's got his little dungeon," said Skarsgard, adding, "I was born to play that part."

Even after a few films, Alexander is still interested in the role of Christian Grey.

"Of course. It's a great script," stated Alex in an interview with ET Canada, adding, "It depends on who's directing it and who's in it."

If Alex does play the part of Christian Grey then who would be suitable to play opposite him as Anastasia Steele? Well, all thanks to dating rumours that started early out in May, Ellen Page might just be Alex's Ana.

Judging from their intense PDA in public and on the red carpet, it's impossible not to notice Alex and Ellen's chemistry. Nonetheless, Alex claims there is nothing romantic going on between him and his "The East" co-star.
