While fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" were on the lookout for potential stars for the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, a few were on the search for a suitable actress to play Ana's best friend, Kate Kavanagh.

To date, the fan favourites for the role of Kate Kavanagh were Blake Lively of "Gossip Girl," Diana Agron of "Glee" and Emma Stone of "Amazing Spiderman."

In fact, Blake Lively and Diana Agron were the strongest contenders for the role. Yet, new names for the part of Kate continue to add up each day, as a lot of celebs expressed an interest in playing the equally popular part of Ana's best friend, a feisty blonde, in E.L. James erotica novel.

The latest actress who expressed interest in the role was "American Reunion" star Katrina Bowden. In an interview with Enstarz.com, Bowden expressed her thoughts on the BDSM-themed film and the part she'd most likely play.

"Playing Anastasia would be out of my comfort zone, but I could see myself playing her best friend," said Katrina.

Bowden was so much a fan of the books that she claimed to "be there when the movie opens."

Apart from Stone, Lively and Agron, the blonde actress joined a few other celebs up for the role, namely Amber Heard, Ashley Benson, Katie Cassidy and Jes Macallan.
