Christian Grey casting speculation for the highly anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey" continues to heat up. Now, another actor has been thrown into the casting mix as a potential star for the lead role. Is Dominic Cooper the next fan favourite for the part of the 27-year old entrepreneur?

All thanks to Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight", "Fifty Shades" that had started out as a fan fiction is now one of the most renowned novels and anticipated film adaptations of today. With Universal Studios and Focus Features at the helm of producing the film, it'll only be a while before an official cast is announced.

Of course, fans of the BDSM-themed novels are never ones to sit back and casually wait. Web polls naming potential stars for the lead roles have been up on various web sites since the "Fifty Shades" hype began. From Alexander Skarsgard of "True Blood" to Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaires', these Hollywood hunks have been dubbed suitable for the role of Christian Grey.

The latest addition to the casting bandwagon for Grey is "Mama Mia" star, Dominic Cooper. Well, blame Cooper's new film, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" for the attention he is getting. In a slideshow by Marie Claire, the 35-year old had been named one of the contenders for the role "with his smouldering stare and handsome good looks, Dominic Cooper is certainly a contender for a Fifty Shades of Grey movie role."

If fans may recall however that Cooper was one of the early favourites for the part back in 2012 but author Bret Easton Ellis had claimed Cooper was "too young" for the role.

"Fifty Shades of Grey: Again, too young, but a lot of votes for Dominic Cooper..." tweeted Bret back in July 17, 2012.

Obviously, fan favourites of 2012 are once again being reconsidered for the part of Christian Grey so is Dominic Cooper the latest fan obsession for the role? Check out the slideshow to see more of the latest hunk eyed to play Christian Grey.
