'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Five Reasons Why Joseph Gordon-Levitt Should Play Christian Grey [PHOTOS]
"Fifty Shades of Grey" film is yet to have its Christian Grey. Yet, this hasn't hindered fans from naming stars they want for the role. This weeks' favourite is none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Thanks to JGL's directorial debut "Don Jon", the suave actor is slated for the BDSM-themed role.
With the film slated for a summer 2014 release, Universal Studios and Focus Features are currently busy searching for a suitable director for the film. As for a cast, fans continue to speculate on actors set to portray Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt was least eyed for the role of Christian Grey given his cute films namely "500 Days of Summer." However, Levitt changed that "too cute" notion with the trailer release of his directorial debut, "Don Jon." For those who have only heard of the film, a quick synopsis is as follows.
"Jon Martello (Gordon-Levitt) is a modern day "Don Juan" who objectifies everything in his life... especially women," the movie's description reads. "His friends call him Don Jon because of his ability to pull "10s" every weekend without fail. But his addiction to porn has made him dissatisfied with life and he sets out on a journey to find a more gratifying sex life. However, he ends up seeing the bigger picture and learning more about life and love through two different women (Scarlett Johansson as Barbara and Julianne Moore as Esther)."
Given the film is all about porn and "objectifying" women, fans of E.L. James erotica novel agree Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the right guy for the role. Check out the slideshow to see five reasons why.
