Finally, half of the year has been reached but there still hasn't been any news on an official cast for "Fifty Shades of Grey." As of late, the strongest contenders for the role continue to be in the favour of Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill. Yet, these three have already spoken up about the possibility of starring in the role. Here are their separate statements to refresh the memory.

Universal Studios and Focus Features certainly take long with the casting call let alone auditions. Currently, the production studio is busy searching for a suitable director and rumour has it that "Anna Karenina's" Joe Wright is in for the job.

Still, noting is set in stone but that hasn't hindered fans of the S&M novels to come up with hundreds of actors who could portray Christian Grey on the big screen. Even with countless web polls, Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries", Matt Bomer of "White Collar" and Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel" continue to emerge as the mightiest contenders.

A few names have been added to the potential list of which include Hugh Dancy of "Hannibal", Joseph Gordon-Levitt of "Don Jon" and Chace Crawford of "Gossip Girl." However, Ian, Matt and Henry still come out as the top three favourites for the role.

Given their popularity as fan favourites, it's not surprising for these three Hollywood hunks to have heard of "Fifty Shades." In fact, they've already managed to speak up on potentially starring in the BDSM-themed film as Christian Grey.
