'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Five Women Perfectly Paired Off with Ian Somerhalder as Anastasia Steele [PHOTOS]

Mention "Fifty Shades of Grey" online and people get hyped about the upcoming film. Universal Studios and Focus Features are keeping mum on casting but fans of E.L. James are all abuzz with the latest rumours and speculations. Currently, Ian Somerhalder of "The Vampire Diaries" is the constant favourite for the role of Christian Grey. Who would portray the perfect Ana opposite Ian then? Well, here are five ladies who could pull off the role smoothly alongside Somerhalder.

Ever since E.L. James BDSM-themed novel hit the shelves, the novels have been flying with sales over the roof. All thanks to that, a film adaptation is set for the works and for a release by summer of 2014. Surprisingly, Focus Features and Universal Studios are yet to announce casting for the film. For one, a director still has not been found and the script is currently being reviewed and written by Kelly Marcel.

So, what do fans have to look forward to? Of course, a casting speculation had occurred since the announcement of the film. From one actor to the next, Hollywood celebrities and models alike have been deemed worthy of the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

Leading the race for the role of Christian Grey is "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder. The Salvatore brother of the beloved series is followed close by Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel" and Matt Bomer of "White Collar." A few other favourites include Stephen Amell of "Arrow", Jessie Pavelka, Alex Pettyfer and Ryan Gosling.

As for the lead role of Anastasia Steele, the favourites constantly change month by month. Last February, Alexis Bledel was a leading contender for the role however Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" easily took over.

Given Somerhalder is the constant winner in fan polls for the role of Grey, who would portray Anastasia Steele opposite him? Numerous fans of "Vampire Diaries" had suggested on and off screen beau, Nina Dobrev to take on the part. However, apart from Dobrev Hollywood is filled with gorgeous women ready to take on the role of Ana opposite Ian.
