Ian Somerhalder's countless tweets over the week have made fans go crazy. Everyone is dying to know if the role Somerhalder is currently working on is for the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey." Judging from Somerhalders mysterious tweets, speculations point out Ian has already been officially cast as Christian Grey.

Fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel are patiently waiting on the news of an official cast. However, it may be a while given Universal Studios and Focus Features are currently on the search for a suitable director.

Of course, leave it to "Fifty" fans to speculate on casting choices. Hundreds of Hollywood stars have already been named as potential actors and actresses to play the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

"Game of Thrones" star, Emilia Clarke is the leading contender for the role of Anastasia Steele. Clarke is followed closely by Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls", Allison Williams of "Girls" and Lyndsy Fonseca of "Nikita."

On the other hand, currently at the top of the list to play the lead role of Christian Grey is none other than "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder. Somerhalder has constantly been named the favourite for the role of Grey since the announcement of the film adaptation back in 2012.

Somerhalder was also one of the first Hollywood stars to express interest in the BDSM-themed role. This has led fans to believe Somerhalder would be the best choice for Christian Grey. The film Ian is currently working on could be any Hollywood film let alone "Fifty Shades of Grey." Yet, fans are greatly hoping it is the role of Christian Grey. News has it that "Fifty Shades" would be filmed in London so the speculations continue. Fans can only sit back, relax and wait for further announcement.
