Universal Studios and Focus Features have officially owned the rights to producing the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey." Of course, fans of the novels are nothing but excited to see who among Hollywood's hottest and sexiest would nab the lead roles. By the looks of it, one "Supernatural" star is making it big in web polls to portraying Christian Grey.

Casting for the official movie of "Fifty Shades" may take a while despite early announcements of the film coming out in summer of 2014. While Universal Studios is busy picking out a suitable director, fans of the series are hurriedly helping out with casting choices. In fact, there have already been a few names in the mix that have proven the potential to play the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

For the role of 22-year old innocent and virginal college student, Anastasia Steele, a few favourites include "Game of Thrones" Emilia Clarke, "Gilmore Girls" Alexis Bledel and "Like Crazy" Felicity Jones. On the other hand, favourites for Christian Grey repeatedly change by the day. Last year's contenders for the role included Armie Hammer, Ryan Gosling and Chris Hemsworth. Now, Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill and Jessie Pavelka are just a few names of new favourites for the role of Christian Grey.

By the looks of it, a new name has been added to the list of potential actors set to portray Christian Grey. "Supernatural" star, Jensen Ackles has been commended for his good looks and impeccable acting that fans agree he could pull off the role of Grey. Examiner.com states all the reasons why.

"Yet he seems to truly personify Christian Grey. Jensen Ackles may not be part of the erotic BDSM world but he has many other traits that make him perfect for the role," reports the post.
"Jensen has a quiet confidence and the charisma to charm any woman. As seen in interviews, he also has the presence needed to play the very wealthy Grey Enterprise Holding's CEO," continued the source, adding, "Christian Grey is a skilled, yet modest, pianist and singer. There are many scenes from the book where Ana Steele finds Christian playing the piano alone. She is in awe of his abilities and grows a deeper love for the complex man. Jensen Ackles is known for being a talented singer and guitar player, often taking the stage for jam sessions. While on the series "Dark Angel", Jensen also played a Chopin piece on the piano."
