'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: E.L. James Talks About the Film Adaptation at the San Diego Comic Con
E.L. James may not have spoken up about the anticipated cast for the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" during the San Diego Comic Con. Yet, the author did share a few details about the highly-anticipated movie. Here's what the author of the best-selling erotica novel had to say.
Comic Con brought out fans in San Diego this past weekend where they had celebrated movies, comics, video games and more. While "Game of Thrones", "Dr Who", "The Mortal Instruments", "Divergent" and "Catching Fire" were among the few highlights of the convention, "Fifty Shades of Grey" author made sure to make an attendance.
James may have attended the Comic Con panel back in 2010 as a fan fiction author but this time around she had attended the SDCC as a spectator. The renowned author did not attend the convention for a specific film or book business but she did discuss a few details about the upcoming film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Vulture published an interview with E.L. James done during the Entertainment Weekly red carpet where the author gave fans an insight on the films' production process plus decisions revolving around the movie as well.
"That's the wonderful thing about doing it this way, is you compile a team who really know what they're doing, who are incredibly talented, and you listen to what they have to say," stated James about having a team aiding her along the way for the film adaptation.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" is set to debut in theatres by August 1, 2014 and shooting will begin this fall with British Director Sam Taylor-Johnson in the lead. Of course, James had nothing but great things to say about Johnson.
"She's creative, incredibly talented, she's got an extraordinary eye. She had a good idea about the whole Fifty experience, she understands it," explained James.
As for casting, speculation continues and with James having been present at the SDCC, the rumours have once again begun. With Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder, both fan favourites for the role of Christian Grey, present at the convention, conspiracy theorists will certainly be at it again with their stories about these two being the highest priority for the lead role.
