'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: Luke Grimes Officially Cast as Elliot Grey
Obviously, casting for "Fifty Shades of Grey" took a turn for the great since Charlie Hunnam of "Sons of Anarchy" left. After Universal Studios announced that Jamie Dornan of "The Falls" will be playing the part of Christian Grey, another exciting announcement was made over the weekend. An equally good-looking actor is set to play Jamie Dornan's brother, Elliot Grey. Say hello to "True Blood's" Luke Grimes.
If Jamie Dornan plays the seriously sexy Christian Grey, Luke Grimes plays the part of the less serious and lovable brother, Elliot Grey. The announcement was made over the weekend which means that anytime soon, the part of Kate Kavanagh will also be handed out.
"Get ready to be swept off your feet. Welcome Luke Grimes to TeamFifty as Elliot Grey!" tweeted E.L. James.
For now, fans are expressing their delight over the two casting choices, namely Jamie Dornan and Luke Grimes. Both actors are not only incredibly good-looking but talented as well. Even writer, Bret Easton Ellis, expressed his glee over the casting choice on his official Twitter account.
"I think that Jamie Dornan is the perfect choice to play Christian Grey in FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. Smartest casting decision in a long time," stated Ellis.
Dakota Johnson is certainly the envy of every woman on the planet. Fans won't have to worry about the "tangible chemistry" because as far as reports go, both Dakota and Dornan had a "really good read."
"They think [Dakota] could handle whoever the guy is," added the source.
As for Luke Grimes, for those who don't know who the actor is, the Ohio-born actor plays the part of James in the HBO original series, "True Blood."
Luke's big screen break came in the film "Taken 2" where he played the boyfriend of Liam Neeson's daughter. Finally, Luke gets more of the spotlight as Elliot Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey."
With the part of Kate Kavanagh left, it'll only be a while before production finally begins. The film is still scheduled for release on August 1, 2014 despite the casting setback.
