The newest version of Mozilla Firefox hit the Web only six weeks after its predecessor.

The Firefox 10 for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android was released due to the rapid cycle adopted by the browser company.

The Firefox 10 comes with new innovative and exciting features. Some of the new features of the Web browser are limited to technologies aimed at Web developers. However, one of the distinct features of the latest version is its functionality, which is all add-ons will be compatible with the new version by default unless specified otherwise by the users. Thus, users will have an easier time managing and updating all of their add-ons to the new version of Firefox.

Web developers will love this new version of Firefox, especially the Web authors. The latest version of Firefox includes:

  • Page Inspector that enables Web authors to peer into the structure of a Web page as well as the style sheet inspector.
  • ScratchPad that is based on the Eclipse Orion code editor, and adds a new full-screen mode site creators can use for immersive apps like games. Game developers will also appreciate new 3D graphics capabilities and anti-aliasing for WebGL content.
  • Mozilla Full-Screen API that allows developers to build full screen apps and games and deliver full screen video content. The latest release also includes support for 3D Web experience with WebGL, a standard for running 3D graphics.

Mozilla adopted a rapid-release program that allowed the company to come up with an updated version of their browser every six months. The company was initially criticized by some end users by having so many updates and not bringing much of new features. The Firefox 10 aims to bring out new developments in the Web more quickly.
