First 3D porn film breaks HK box office record set by Avatar
The film according to its publicist has already grossed more than HK$15 million since its release.
The first 3D porn film in the history of movie-making has defeated the record set Hollywood blockbuster, Avatar at the Hong Kong box office.
The porn movie’s publicist told the Agence France Presse that "3-D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" raked in an estimated HK$2.8 million ($360,000) during its opening day in theaters last week, outdoing director James Cameron's science fiction 3D epic which collected HK$2.6 million.
The AFP added that the film according to its publicist has already grossed more than HK$15 million since its release.
It is believed that the film has attracted the ‘curious movie-goers’ in the country, who are mostly office workers, students and even retirees. The film’s patrons said AFP stood patiently in long lines outside hong Kong movie theaters to see in their own eyes what the first 3D porn film has to offer.
The film, featuring Japanese adult actresses Yukiko Suo and Saori Hara is based on a ‘piece of classical Chinese erotic literature’ which features “orgies, swinging and graphic sex scenes”. The $3.2-million film narrates how a young man figured out that his ex-wife is his real love after being exposed to the ‘erotic world of an aristocrat’.
