First 4K Ultra HD 65-inch TV – Panasonic VIERA Set to Hit Australia
Panasonic has announced that it is bringing the new TV - VIERA to Australia. The product, said to be a market first, is 65-inch 4K Ultra HD. It is said to provide second generation connectivity and superior imaging.
The TV comes with a built-in camera with Face recognition feature. The display resolution is said to be 3840 x 2160 pixels. The display quality, however, depends on the quality of the source content.
The VIERA comes in a "Super Narrow Bezel" design. Two pairs of Active shutter 3D eye wear and a touch pad controller come along with the TV.
In terms of connectivity, the device comes with a built-in wireless LAN, Bluetooth, 3 HDMI terminals and 3 USB terminals. It also has a SDXC card slot.
The product is said to be future proof in terms of connectivity by the company. It supports 4K output devices and 4K video cameras that are yet to be released in the market. The 4K 50p/60p input is based on HDMI 2.0.
The TH-L65WT600A LED LCD will provide highly realistic picture quality that is brighter and clearer compared to the competition. The resolution is said to be four times the resolution of current full HDTVs.
Customers can view content from regular cable broadcasting to web videos in the HDTV. The high resolution is rendered by 4K "Fine Remaster Engine." It will be available for purchase by late October, according to a press release by the company.
"Australians are enthusiastic early adopters of new technology. This second generation TV offers the connectivity to further expand the 4K content that will be available to consumers," said Matt Pearce, Group Marketing Manager VIERA Panasonic Australia, in the same press release.
Users will be able to "upscale existing content" using the Fine Remaster Engine, Mr Pearce said. The home screen of the device is fully customisable and users will be able to take full advantage of the 65 inch screen as more 4K Ultra HD content becomes available.
The customisable home screen allows user to access their favourite content easily. It also features voice control which is either done by the touch pad controller or the users' smartphone.
Users can turn their smartphone into remote control by installing the "TV Remote App." Mobile devices like tablets and smartphones can be linked with the TV. This allows users to share content.
The price of the Panasonic VIERA 65-inch TV will be announced before the launch date.
