November 8 is a day that will live in infamy, at least for Call of Duty fans. That's because November 8 is when the latest installment of the massively popular first person shooter game will drop in stores. To wet fans appetites, Activision and studios Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games have revealed the full trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The video clocking in at only a minute and 30 seconds feature stunning visuals and takes the action to three cities, New York, Paris and Germany. The footage also hints at an underwater level as well as potential combat using an attack helicopter and an AC-130 gunship.

Call of Duty is a first person game series franchise created by Ben Chichoski. From starting as a primarily PC game it has since expanded to consoles and handhelds. The first few Call of Duty games has been set in World War II but the Modern Warfare duo has been set in modern times. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest installment of the series.

Activision owns and publishes the game series with primary developers Infinity Ward and Treyarch. Sledgehammer games is in collaboration with Infinity Ward for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The Call of Duty series has made nearly 3 billion in sales worldwide with more than 55 million units sold.

Modern Warfare 3 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed multiple Game of the Year winner Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 3 is also a first person shooter game and has been in development since the release of Modern Warfare 2. It will be the third installment of the Modern Warfare series and the eighth game in the Call of Duty franchise.
