It is time to move on from Google Nexus 10 2 as latest rumours suggest that the company is working on Nexus 8 tablet to battle head on with iPad Mini with Retina display.

Another LG tablet emerged online with user agent profile of LG D830 and picked up by Twitter user @evleaks, which could be the rumoured 8-inch tablet. The Nexus 5 has user agent profiles of LG D820 and LG D821. According to the user agent profile the device has a display of 1920x1080 resolution and LTE capabilities.

Google still has not announced the much awaited second generation of Nexus 10 tablet that leave many fans waiting in vain. Frustrated Google fans may be treated with a smaller slate later this year. However, Google remained mum amidst the rumours on its devices.

An 8-inch slate is not a remote possibility as Google leaked a photo of the alleged Nexus 8 on the updated Android's "Apps & Entertainment" page last month. In the photo, a lady is holding a tablet that appears to be neither the Nexus 7 nor Nexus 10. The device is definitely running with Android 4.4 KitKat OS. However, Google quickly altered the photo and replaced with a Nexus 7 tablet.

Other rumours point on another device from LG with a code name of LG V510 tablet surfaced and it seems that the tablet is similar to LG G Pad 8.3 tablet. A new Service Manual emerged online recently showing some of the tablet's features such as 8.3 inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and a 4,600 mAh battery just like the LG G Pad.

It seems that Google is more threatened by iPad Mini with Retina display and releasing an 8-inch tablet deemed necessary ditching the idea of a 10-inch tablet.

Google Nexus 8 is rumoured to pack an 8-inch LCD screen display with 1,200 x 1,920 pixel resolution. The device will be powered by quad core Snapdragon 600 CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz. It will also have a separate Adreno 320 graphics chip as well as 3MP back camera and 2MP front cam. It will run with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. Price starts at $199 for the 8 GB variant.
