Apart from all the tension and thrill that the announcement during the American Idol results show, it also featured numerous surprises on stage. This included the marriage proposal of former 'American Idol' contestant Ace Young to another former AI contender Diana DeGarmo.

The two got engaged on stage in front of the entire America watching, with the help of the show's host Ryan Seacrest.

When the two were invited on stage by Seacrest, they announced that they have moved in together. But things started to become more interesting when Young, 31, got down on one knee and asked DeGarmo, 24 to marry him.

'I love you to death. You're my best friend,' Young said to his fiancé while including a quick acknowledgement too for the jeweller behind the ring.

Young was a finalist during season 5 of 'American Idol,' while DeGarmo who said yes without hesitation to the popped question was a runner up way back in season 3.
