Microsoft announces the new features coming in the next update of Xbox One. Users will be able to live stream on TV or on Windows, Android or iOS smartphones and tablets using the SmartGlass app. It can do things like a Slingbox can do but users will only be able to stream on a local TV network and not be able to do it via the internet. The SmartGlass companion app will allow users to watch TV without interrupting the other user's gameplay.

Once it is connected, users will be able to play, pause, rewind, and switch channels without interruption. According to Microsoft, Keeping the users in the game while multitasking and making the device more useful has been its huge focus. One example provided is that the user can see threaded messages with conversation history while playing the game. Now, users can multitask while playing. The "Snap Center" will allow users to have easy access on friends, achievements, party and messages. Which will be very easy for users to jump back and forth. While in the gameplay, users can now see updates and messages coming from friends.

To set this up, a live TV tuner is needed. It will only be available to some countries like France, Germany, UK, Italy and Spain for €29.99 ($40) in October. Just connect the mobile devices to the console may it be Windows, Android or iOS smartphone or tablet and it will allow users to watch TV. Now, other people inside the house can watch TV using its mobile devices without the household gamer which always occupies the TV. This will only be limited to the devices sharing in the same home network. Microsoft also announces that TV experience for Xbox One will allow users to boot straight to TV from standby mode and a new TV guide will appear showing the latest channels that was watched by the user and will be able to switch and see what's playing on other channels as well. According to Microsoft, the new update for Xbox One will include a new media player that will support video and audio content from USB and DLNA enabled devices.
