Galaxy J7 2017 compared to its 2016 predecessor; Samsung may release different processor versions
Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 is getting close to it launch day. Earlier reports had already revealed the mid-range smartphone’s specs. It will be interesting to see how it fares against the Galaxy J7 2016 handset.
This year’s handset has already been Wi-Fi certified. Bluetooth SIG and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have certified the smartphone. Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy J7 2017 could be launched by Verizon as Samsung Galaxy J7 V in the United States on April 10, and as Galaxy J7 Sky Pro by Tracfone. This information was shared by known tipster Evan Blass on Twitter, earlier in February. The smartphone was also spotted on GFXBench and showed a 5.5-inch HD Display and screen resolution of 1,280 × 720 pixels.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 handset has a 5.5-inch screen that offers HD resolution. It comes in a plastic chassis and is available in black, white, gold and rose gold colour options. Rumours suggest that the Galaxy J7 2017 will have a metallic chassis and will be available in black and white colour options. It will also reportedly have a horizontal metal strip that will host the primary camera. The 2017 smartphone will have a Snapdragon 625 chipset, also found in devices such as ZenFone 3, Redmi Note 4 and Moto G5 Plus.
Galaxy J7 2017 could have a 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage with memory expansion via microSD card. The predecessor, Galaxy J7 2016, also sports the same configuration but a Snapdragon 617 processor. According to an earlier report by PhoneArena, the Galaxy J7 2017 could have pretty much the same configuration as its predecessor as far as operating system and camera specs are concerned. The J7 2017 could have Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed, and 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras.
The successor could come with a smaller battery capacity of 3,000 mAh, compared to the 2016 device’s 3,300 mAh battery. The upcoming device may have fast-charging capabilities.
