Samsung follows Apple's iPhone 6 with the release of the Galaxy Note 4. Intended to take on the onslaught of phablet competitors, many have praised the Note 4 for its impressive features. The device will be hitting Australia soon as new pricing guides and preorder instructions have been released. Unfortunately, consumers may have to decide purchasing the unit amidst new build issues. Is Galaxy Note 4 worth the purchase?
Those waiting for the Samsung phablet to hit Australia may have to wait longer. The Galaxy Note 4 will hit the country on October 29. The pre-sale starts October 15 with the price tag starting at $A949. The Galaxy Note Edge starts at $A1249. The Galaxy Note 4 has been praised for its impressive specs. These include:
- Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
- 16 MP, 3456 x 4608 pixels, optical image stabilization, autofocus, LED flash
- Android OS, v4.4.4 (KitKat)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (SM-N910S)/
- Exynos 5433 (SM-N910C)

However, in the company's attempt to address the impressive and considerable demand it appears some defective devices have slipped. According to GSM Arena the earlier than planned sale of the Note 4 may have resulted to defective units as per the South Korean report.
The featured defective unit shows a gap between the metal casing and the 5.7" QHD Super AMOLED display. The gap is big enough to host a business card or two sheets of A4 paper. Samsung has not released an official comment about the matter. Whether the issue affects more than a just a few devices should come out in just a matter of time.
The Galaxy Note 4 has been compared to the iPhone 6 with the most recent comparison from DisplayMate naming the iPhone 6 with the best performing display but Note 4 taking the overall title for display quality.
