Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Update: 4 Signs 4th-Gen Samsung Phablet Will Touchdown Sept 2014
The Galaxy Note 4, on its rumoured September 2014 release date, is likely to figure in an epic slugfest with the jumbo-sized iPhone 6 and according to new reports, the device will be readily available shortly after its unveiling in the same month.
At around the same time, Apple is said to rollout two iPhone 6 models and one of which, the 5.5-inch build, will obviously challenge the current phablet leader.
So September this year is quite an interesting month for phablet lovers and below are the signs that point to the Note 4 arrival in the month, likely even pre-empting the first hybrid smartphone from Apple.
Top-speed production mode
The latest buzz from South Korea, according to SamMobile, is the accelerating production activities for the Galaxy Note 3 replacement. Everything about the Note 4 is being rushed as Samsung is reportedly eyeing to make the device immediately shortly after its expected reveal at the 2014 IFA Berlin gadget in the first week of September, the same report added.
With the spectre of an early September debut, the Note 4 could even hit the market some few days ahead of the iPhone 6, which in new reports is said programmed for a commercial debut in September 19.
Galaxy S5 price cuts
Another indicator that Samsung is gearing up to release the Note 4 in the last month of Q3 2014 is the latest discount deal on the Galaxy S5. The first 2014 Sammy flagship now retails at Cricket Wireless with a $100 price off from the original sticker price, CNET said in a report.
As market watchers would say, when price points for flagship devices starts to retreat the replacement is just around the corner. So in Samsung's case, the GS5 is getting relatively cheaper to possibly sell more units and make room for the bigger and better Galaxy Note 4.
Shrinking Samsung profits
Samsung's Galaxy mobile devices generate lots of cash for the South Korean tech giant but for the second quarter of 2014, the haul may not be that big compared to the previous quarters. Citing reports from The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider pointed to not-too-impressive earnings for Samsung in the June 2014 quarter.
There could be a declining trend affecting Samsung's Galaxy business, said the same report, and the best way to quickly reverse the situation is to offer another compelling buy - the Galaxy Note that is. If indeed September 2014 is the commercial debut for the handset, then Samsung can take comfort on the likelihood of closing out the year with better-looking financial results.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is here
Google is uncaging the KitKat successor and according to Android Police, build 5.0 or Lollipop is a major sweet maker over from the candy treatment of last year. Now Samsung has made clear that monster specs and beastly features can be expected from the Note 4 and the best way to complements this package, which includes a new form-factor, is to run the device on Android 5.0.
More than two months away, it's not hard to see that by September Lollipop should be ready - all reconfigured, fused with TouchWiz and tested by Samsung - to come out of the box with the Galaxy Note 4 release date.
