Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Update: Expect 3-Sided Flexible Panel & Snapdragon 805 on Sept 3 Unpacked2

When Samsung finally issued the invites for the Galaxy Note 4 intro on September 3 this year, speculations shifted into high gear on what of the countless rumours about the device will prove true on release date.

One possibility is offered by a G4Games report last week, which resurrected the earlier claim that the Note 4 will sport a bendable display panel with the added benefit of three-sided screen that expands the user's viewing angle.

The report, which G4Games said originated from Korean-language ZDNet.co.kr, appears to play up on Samsung's hints that its fourth phablet flagship will be vastly different from the Galaxy S5 because it will have a unique form-factor. Of course, the tease was short on details.

However, a Note 4 with three-sided screen and the YOUM display technology were not exactly fresh information. These features have been the subject of discussion long ago with Samsung even showing off a prototype via the CES 2013 as if to prove that they are real.

Reality though seems a bit too slow as the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S5 came into being but YOUM in whatever rendition skipped out on all three flagships.

It could be different for the Note 4 this 2014, the report said, adding that bendable display on a high-end Samsung device is backed by previously published patents from the South Korean tech giant.

And if YOUM three-sided display panel will indeed become part of the Note 4, the deployment will likely be in limited fashion as G4Games reminded that Samsung earlier revealed its plan of bringing two Note 4 variants - one is intended for the mass market while the other is designed for niche destinations or will be marketed as the Galaxy Note 4 Limited Edition.

Talking about market distribution, Samsung is known to ship out the last two Note phablet series in two main editions - one is powered by Samsung's internally manufactured Exynos and the other by Qualcomm's Snapdragon application processor.

The Note 4 will not be any different as SamMobile said in a new report that the upcoming phablet is confirmed to draw its muscle from an Exynos 5433 chip and a Snapdragon processing chip.

While the chips differ in specifications, most experts would say that the difference is hardly recognizable in everyday use. For the most part, Exynos and Snapdragon is separated only availability and like in the last two iterations most users will likely get hold of the Qualcomm-flavoured Galaxy Note 4.

Apart from the CPU make and the display material, the Galaxy Note 4 on release date is anticipated to show off a 5.7-inch screen in 2560 x 1440 display resolution, 3GB of RAM, a basic storage capacity of 32GB with memory expansion provision, a delightful 16MP rear shooter and the latest Android build right out of the box.
