Galaxy Note 4 vs. iPhone 6 Plus: 6 Ways Samsung Phablet Will Beat Apple’s Jumbo Smartphone
The Galaxy Note 4 release date is just a matter of few days, further heightening the rivalry between the original and fourth-generation phablet from Samsung and Apple's initial supersized smartphone entry - the iPhone 6 Plus.
A closer look on Samsung's second flagship this 2014 will reveal that the 5.7-inch device boasts of at least six functions and features that could convince many phablet shoppers this coming Christmas season to look beyond the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus.
Read on to find out:
Removable back plate
One of the stronger selling points for Samsung's Galaxy handsets is the removable back cover and the feature is thankfully extended to the premium Note 4.
Peeling open the device at the back portion leads to many benefits for users. One of them is the easy installation of SIM and replacement of the same when needed. Also with the exposed Note 4 back, sliding in extra memory to the expansion slot is quick and easy. Both tasks are either complicated process or impossible with the closed-shell 6 Plus.
Yet really the best part of having a removable back cover on a device is the option of snapping in an extra battery anytime that gives extended operating hours to Note 4 users.
Fast charging and power saving mode
Further complementing the latter feature is the fast charger kit that Samsung has deployed with the Note 4 out of the box. This accessory juices up the phone real quick and is especially useful for users in a great hurry to charge up.
And if the Note 4 got to the point to low battery mode, users can simply activate the Ultra Power Saving feature, which instantly makes the device screen into black and white to save battery. In the same mode, the device also limits the functions and features in order to stay alive until the next charging moment.
Multitasking features at near-desktop level
While the iPhone 6 Plus is rumoured to soon feature split-screen capability that will allow the viewing and working on two app windows as the same time, Note 4 users already enjoy multitasking benefits and can do it on the go.
And the same Note 4 feature also allows virtual desktop functions such as windows resizing.
The S Pen advantage
From the first Galaxy Note, the S Pen has been a mainstay and its usefulness had steadily improved over time. The latest iteration has doubled its sensitiveness that taking notes and drawing on the Note 4 screen has never been easier.
Also, copy and pasting of text using the S Pen is no doubt a winner over the conventional use of finger as favoured by Steve Jobs.
And as Jobs had rejected the stylus as an unwanted tool, there is no telling when a similar instrument will be available for iPhone phablet users.
Universal remote control
The Note 4 comes with an infrared blaster that is located at the top portion of the device, making it possible for users to configure the phone as the only remote kit to control other electronic devices.
Better one-hand use feature
Docks on the home screen that provides access to frequently used apps and functions and shrunk screen when activated make the Note 4 a joy to use in one-hand mode. Serving as bonus is the device's on-board keyboard that can be adjusted for one-hand tapping and typing, which is a function that is not native to the iPhone 6 Plus.
The global Galaxy Note 4 rollout will begin in mid-October as gradual release date of the device starts on the 16th of the month.
