Galaxy Note 5 vs Galaxy S6 Edge+: Find out the difference between the new Samsung phablets
On Aug. 13, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ phablets. Both the smartphones feature similar specs. However, there are several differences between the two that can help customers in deciding the right model for themselves.
According to Forbes, since the Galaxy Note 5 is productivity designed smartphone that has been released to replace the older Galaxy Note 4. It is mainly targeted towards businessmen. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge. Hence, it is a consumer centric smartphone.
The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is thinner and light than the Note 5. The thickness of the Note 5 is 7.6 and weights 171 grams. On the other hand, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ measures 6.9 mm in thickness and weights 153 grams. The reason why the S6 Edge+ weighs less is that it does not feature the metallic S-Pen stylus that is available on the Note 5.
Both the handsets come with the same 5.7-inch sized Super AMOLED display supporting Quad HD resolution and 515 ppi. The display of the S6 Edge+ is different as it comes with dual-edged curved screen.
Two major drawbacks on both the handsets are that they do not feature removable batteries and are not enabled with microSD slots. This has happened mainly because Samsung has used the design strategy of glass and metal of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on the Note 5 and the S6 Edge +.
Since the Galaxy Note 5 is a business centric phablet, it comes packed with several productivity features. The new S-Pen is all the more responsive than before. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ is targeted those customers who prefer aesthetics because of which it does not have productivity software of the Note 5. Also, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is pricier than the Galaxy Note 5.
