Galaxy Note 8 Arrives Apr. 11 for $399, 5 Reasons to Forget iPad Mini 2 Release Date [PHOTOS]
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is arriving in the U.S. on April 11. The Note 8 price tag starts at $399 for the 16GB WiFi only model. This is more expensive than the starting price of the Apple iPad mini when it was launched in November. But despite the higher price, Samsung Electronics is expected to pull in gadget shoppers. After all, the new Galaxy Note device offers at least five reasons to forget the iPad mini 2 release date. Can you hold out for a similar gadget for a couple more months?
5 Reasons Samsung Galaxy Note 8 makes buyers forget about iPad mini 2 release date:
1. The Galaxy Note 8 sports a 1280 x 800 resolution HD display. This is a decent, even stunning display for an 8-inch screen.
2. Inside the Note 8 is a 1.6 GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, with 2GB of RAM. The Apple iPad mini runs with only 500MB of RAM but is running just fine. But users will enjoy heavy media consumption all the more with N8's specs.
3. Mobile photography enthusiasts can take photos and upload snaps quickly with the Note 8's 5MP rear camera. Users will also look sharp and clear with its 1.3MP front camera. The iPad mini 2 is expected to have similar (or better) camera specs, but users should do fine with the Note 8's camera matched to a beautiful screen and brainpower.
4. The Note 8 is supported by a 4,600 mAh battery. It promises a long battery life on paper. (Expect battery tests on user reviews shortly.)
5. The Apple iPad mini 2 may be competent in terms of specs, but it does not have Samsung's WACOM digitizer screen and S-Pen stylus for the Note 8. This is the one tool that many Note users enjoy when creating and sharing content on their device.
Galaxy Note 8 Price Tag: $399 for WiFi only variant
Android Community reported the 3G/4G LTE variants of the Note 8 has yet to hit store shelves. The $399 price tag applies to the WiFi only versions of the Samsung device. The site, however, hinted the supersize phablet is coming up soon because it has cleared the FCC.
