Fresh rumours suggest that Samsung fans should expect two Galaxy S5 models in metal and plastic builds and that volume production of the 2014 flagship starts on January en route to a likely release date on March or April next year.

Direct from South Korea, ETNews via Gotta Be Mobile has revealed that Samsung is all set to mass produce the device that will replace the 40 million plus-selling Galaxy S4 and production lines will start firing up by January 2014.

With that production calendar, Samsung appears bent on pushing out the GS5 commercially by March of the same year, which likely is the latest target release date. The schedule, however, contradicts earlier claims that the Galaxy S5 would come out as early the first month of 2014.

Still, the supposed rollout is in line with Samsung's flagship product upgrade cycle, which is first quarter of a calendar year. Note that the GS4 was unveiled March of 2013, signalling that unwrapping of the GS5 would take place within the same period.

The same ETNews report, according to BGR, pointed to a Galaxy S5 with monster capabilities. Specs that have been floating around include an Exynos 6 processing chip or a Snapdragon 805 CPU in 64-bit computing standard.

Four GB of RAM could also be part of the deal while the camera prowess is to be headlined by a 16MP font shooter using ISOCELL technology that according to experts will ensure the capture of quality photos even in low-light environment.

The battery designed for the GS5 is likely to carry 4000mAh rating or higher, stretching the projected operating hours of the gadget, which also benefits from the energy-efficient nature of its powerhouse processors and Super AMOLED display panel that beams out in 2K resolution with up to 560ppi of pixel rendition.

The screen make could also be curved or bendable using Samsung's YOUM display technology, a glimpse was provided by the prototype-looking Galaxy Round that was recently released. The upgrade affords extra durability to the device.

But most notable on the new report is the likelihood that the Galaxy S5 will become available in two variants - one in a more premium metal casing as suggested by leaked photos last week and another in the more familiar Galaxy design template, wrapped in durable polycarbonate material or plastic.

Per ETNews, the total make of the GS5 has been finalised, allowing Samsung to commence its manufacturing activities come January 2014. If production goes ahead as planned, then the device will likely get a sneak peak via the 2014 CES in Las Vegas.

Or Samsung would stick to its launch tradition and uncloak instead the Galaxy S5 through a glitzy event just like the first 2013 Unwrapped that introduced the Galaxy S4 in March this year.

While nothing is solid at this time, it should be safe to assume that March 2014 is the actual Galaxy S5 release date or a month earlier of the Galaxy S4 commercial debut.
