Giant handsets are now a tech market trend. The Samsung Galaxy Note series used to be alone in the huge screen category with its 5.3-inch smartphone display, but it now has some pretty tough competition.

Other smartphone makers have come up with their own large-screen smartphones after realising that Samsung created a whole new market with its very first giant handset, otherwise called a phablet. It’s worth noting, however, that the Korean tech giant's main rival is Apple.

Now, Apple has plunged head first into the phablet pool and unveiled a smartphone with a 5.5-inch screen. Just recently, the Cupertino-based tech company introduced its second massively screened smartphone, the iPhone 6S Plus.

Being unveiled to the public so close to each other, the Galaxy Note 5 and the iPhone 6S Plus will end up battling it out in the market. Samsung's phablet is the latest model in its line of amazingly performing phablets and was unveiled just a month ago. It's only expected that these two premium devices will be compared to one another by tech critics.

It wouldn’t be fair to both gadgets to figure out which one is better by merely taking a look at their listed specs. It must be noted though that a quick peek at their processors and memory features is enough to let tech users know what to expect.

The Galaxy Note 5's octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset with four Cortex A57 cores at 2.1 GHz, and another set of four Cortex A53 at 1.5 GHz, seem to trump the iPhone 6S Plus. The latter device has Apple's latest quad core A9 processor with two 1.7 GHz cores and two more 1.2 GHz cores with an M9 co-processor for its sensors.

The cameras of both phones aren’t that much different from each other either. The iPhone 6S Plus' 8MP camera was bumped to 12MP. Despite the improvement, the Galaxy Note 5 is still getting away with its 16MP sensor. Conclusively, it will be tough for tech users to choose between the two gadgets.
