Game of Thrones Now a Game; Killzone: Shadow Fall has 1,500 Challenges; New Assassin’s Creed 4 Dev Diary [VIDEOS]
Ever thought of seeing your favorite Game of Thrones characters in a more retro version onscreen? Then how about giving this 8-bit game of the popular saga and TV series a spin?
Created by Abel Alves in Uruguay as a free-to-download and play game, the Game of Thrones 8-bit game is a side-scroller with a number of levels, and one where you can play as Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, and Jon Snow.
According to Wired, the game is a scream, and one that anyone can practically enjoy. You can basically play characters that have a good deal of screen and action time in the series, so be prepared to swear your fealty to a house--or opt to play the game of thrones and side with another in your next game.
"My favorite characters are all Lannisters and Starks (I love Arya, Tyrion, and the Kingslayer), but I had to choose characters that have some action in the series," said Alves in an email interview with Wired.
"As much as I like Sansa, for example, I think I could not make a stage for her."

Killzone: Shadow Fall ditches XP for challenges
The newest Killzone title will have a different way of letting you rise the ranks as a player for the PS4 launch title.
Say goodbye to experience points via unlockables, and say hello to 1,500 challenges scattered all over the game, with which you can earn points for every task completed.
GameSpot reports that Guerilla Games community editor Victor Zuylen has stated in a blog post that this change will allow players to enjoy the challenges, which come at different difficulty modes.
The game will also have the Spotlight System for each multiplayer level where the top three players from both the winning and losing side will face-off. The additional rules and systems in the game have also pushed the developers to take out some aspects, such as the exoskeletons and jetpacks for multiplayer, at least for the launch,
A new AC4 dev diary discuss gameplay details
Just like most of the upcoming games, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has pushed to create an even bigger open-world stealth game, combining the need for exploration along with creating diverse ways by which you can achieve your goal in the game.
In the most recently released developer diary, script writer Darby McDevitt and art director Raphael Lacoste discuss what you can do with the different additions of the game, such as plantations, ship attacks, and even the underwater exploration for the open-world.
"We really tried to push level design to a next level, to have a lot of task, and give many options to the player. We don't want to create a leaner game--it's really something open," said Lacoste. "We try to have very different options to reach the same targets."
These are reflected in the many destinations and sights that you can see within the game, where you can go to differently themed cities, fisherman villages, the Caribbean seas, as well as the underwater world that is filled with realistic details.
