"Game of Thrones" fans are eagerly looking forward to the release date of the season 4, which is on 31 March 2014. Here is a production update of what fans are calling "the purple wedding" between King Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell.

King Joffrey of the house Baratheon and Margarey Tyrell of the house Tyrell seek to solidify the partnership between the two houses through their marriage. But not all are happy about this union; will the happy couple see some peace while the realm is facing war on all sides?

The wedding ceremony was being filmed in a semi permanent set in Belfast, the Sept of Baelor. The reception was filmed in an outdoor set in Parc Gradac in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Deb Riley, the production designer and her team were involved in transforming the garden into a set befitting a royal wedding in "Game of Thrones."

The wedding took over five days to film and was attended by over 218 guests, apart from the main cast of the "Game of Thrones." Some of the guests travelled from different parts of Europe and some came from as far away as United States of America to be a part of the wedding shoot.

The shooting for the wedding was threatened by predictions of rainfall during the scheduled days of the filming. Water funnels had been formed off the sea coast with a possibility of the rain storm hitting the show set.

There was only one incident of rain playing spoilsport during the filming of the wedding in "Game of Thrones," but the crew managed to get the cast some cover from the rain and save the costumes and props.

After the events of the Red Wedding fans are waiting with bated breath for another wedding in "Game of Thrones" Season 4. It is a joyous occasion for the Lannisters as they celebrate not just the wedding but also the defeat of Stannis Baratheon and the death of Robb Stark.

The war seems to turning in favour of the house Lannister, but fans now know that "Game of Thrones" tends to throw-in unexpected twists and a wedding in Westeros is something that is not to be missed, especially with Tyrion Lannister as the new Master of Coin.

How will Tyrion Lannister manage to pay for the extravagant royal wedding? Watch "Game of Thrones" Season 4 to see how he finds an innovative way to raise money for the royal wedding and steady the finances of the house.
