'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Video: Teaser fuels 'Jon Snow coming back' speculations [Watch]
Quotes from the dead, from past 5 GOT seasons
A "Game of Thrones" Season 6 video further fuelled speculations that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is coming back albeit in a different form. GOT cast Maisie Williams has earlier said she cannot say that her character's (Arya Stark) brother "is going to be alive," and fans took this as a sign of hope. The latest video, a teaser released by HBO this Sunday, is set in the House of Black and White, at the Hall of Faces.
"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword," the voice of Sean Bean's Ned Stark dramatically opens the new "Game of Thrones" Season 6 teaser. His face joins countless faces of the dead in the somber hall. In the pilot episode of "Game of Thrones," this line continues: "If you would take a man's life, you owe it to him to look into his eyes and hear his final words. And if you cannot bear to do that, then perhaps the man does not deserve to die."
"I've won every battle, but I'm losing this war." Richard Madden's Robb Stark is heard next, dropping one of his biggest quotes from "Game of Thrones" Season 3, Episode 6, titled "The Climb."
"Show them how it feels to lose what they love." The voice of Michelle Fairley's Catelyn Stark resonates among the avid fans of "Game of Thrones" the TV series and the book series from which it was based -- "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin.
"Everyone is mine to torment," Jack Gleeson's Joffrey Baratheon is heard next, echoing his line from the tenth episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 3, "Mhysa." He says this to Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), and he adds: "You'd do well to remember that, you little monster."
Kit Harington's Jon Snow closes the Hall of Faces teaser with a one-liner that is believed to summarise "Game of Thrones" Season 6: "The Long Night is coming, and the dead come with it."
Will Jon Snow appear in "Game of Thrones" Season 6? The GOT Twitter account has recently released two dozen photos from the next season. The 998th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is not in any of the photos. However, fans are quite sure that Jon Snow's story is far from over, even as his brothers at the Watch have made sure that he bleeds to death in the finale episode of GOT Season 4.
On WatchersOnTheWall.com, Williams was quoted as saying there is "a great twist" that is happening in relation to Jon. She can't say Jon Snow is alive, though. This statement reconciles with a number of theories including warging and the assistance of The Red Woman a.k.a. Melisandre (Carice van Houten).
In an interview with Digital Spy, Harington said he "can't wait for the next season. In the same interview, Harington said fans should get used to the idea that Jon Snow is dead.
"People didn't want me to die, but he's dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it," Harington told DS. But if the dead is coming with the long night, does that mean Jon Snow is coming back as a ghost through his direwolf Ghost? Fans have less than three months left to speculate.
"Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres on HBO on April 24. The network also live streams on HBO Now for the avid viewers.
