Those who still haven't downloaded the Minecraft Pocket Edition should be wary of what's in the app store now, as scammers have just been revealed to be targeting consumers with an app that can very likely hack into your phone and send premium rate messages using your account.

Spotted by VG 24/7, the hack is detailed to have already been discussed and evaluated by F-Secure, a web security firm. In a separate interview, it stated that the app acts as a Trojan, and can be very tricky since it sells at €2.50, seemingly a discount from the original, which is in the market for €5.40.

The way the app works is that it requires the permission to send SMS via an enhanced payment system. This will trigger the app to keep sending premium-rate messages that can affect your bill.

One way to differentiate from the original Minecraft Pocket Edition app is that Mojang's valid code will have a check in them that verifies the signature used to sign the APK, but the code will not run if it is not Mojang's original app.

Battlefield 4 Xbox One gamers get stability patch

Despite EA and DICE's various issues, Battlefield continues to release patches, this time with Xbox One users getting the stability patch following the release for the PC and PS4.

Over at Battlelog, DICE has detailed the changes that players can expect aside from improved general stability and balance.

There are fixes for the flickering map and minimap Rogue Transmission and Operation Locker, the issue of players spawning under the map in Lancang Dam, the broken collision on containers that previously made grenades bounce back even with opened doors and camera glitches when switching weapons.

Those playing China Rising may also notice that the animation for the aiming for motorbike passengers has also been fixed, while repair for vehicles including those with lower health points have been normalized.

The markers for team members as well as the killer health have also been updated to show a teammate status and health signs respectively. The patch has also increased the damage by 25% for the Stealth Jet 20mm cannons and reduced the risk of single player campaigns save file becoming corrupt.

DICE notes that while the updates are rolling out, players may experience downtime while the update is being deployed.

A look at Assassin's Creed Liberation HD

Assassin's Creed HD was supposed to be a PS Vita companion game for Assassin's Creed 3, though it has not transformed to join the games being played on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Sadly, the transition may not be as great and the expectations not as big and met as hoped by gamers, as CVG reports that playing Liberation, when compared to Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, takes the excitement and the high of the latest game and reels in a more mediocre feel overall.

While it features a Aveline de Grandpré, who at the get-go, seems to be a character that has equal promise, the run of the game doesn't support it. From tossing you back and forth between worlds, outfits, and environments to the lacking development of histories, character, and action it seems like Black Flag put you through a high that Liberation cannot easily compare. Yet there are still great missions that let you practice and execute stealth in exciting environments, from protecting settlers to even getting into a voodoo ritual.

Over at Major Nelson, Gabe Graziani, Ubisoft community developer, has revealed that the Xbox 360 features Agate's hideout, which can be found in the bayou, the wicked whip for Aveline, which can be used for swinging through gaps and bringing pain during combat, and a more HD gaming experiences that doesn't begin to compare with the SD.
