Gaming Update: The Last of Us Gory Red-band Trailer Released; Injustice: Gods Among Us Free Demo Out; Civilzation 5 Now with More Details [TRAILER]
The Last of Us gets down and gory with a red-band trailer that's been tagged as such for a reason--and makes the game all the more appealing.
For those looking for a surprise will find in with the Injustice: Gods Among Us free demo that came a little earlier than expected. And get more details on what the next expansion for Civilization 5 is really all about.
The Last of Us Gets Gory
Brutal seems like an understatement for Sony and Naughty Dog's latest trailer for The Last of Us.
Aptly tagged as a red band trailer, TechnoBuffalo reports that it has very brutal moments, seemingly unavoidable bad language, and character interactions that will make you wish it was already June for the exclusive PS3 release.
The gameplay featured in the trailer showcases leads Ellie and Joel going on a cross-country journey, encountering moral and physical dilemmas, reports PlayStation.com. What makes this game special is how it delves not just on a journey towards the west, but also a journey inwards, as it looks deeper into the characters.
Watch the trailer here--but you've been warned. It's not for the faint and the squeamish.
Injustice: Gods Among Us gives a free demo this month
The scheduled April 4 release of the Injustice: Gods Among Us free demo moved up one day, so those who just logged onto Xbox Live and PlayStation Store should've seen a little surprise waiting for them, reports MTV.com.
However, Wii U has just gotten left behind again, as there does not seem to be any announcement for a free demo in this console.
Injustice: Gods Among Us will be released to all three consoles, Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U later this month, so the free demo should give you a heads up on what's waiting in the full version.
Civilization 5: Creating a brave new world
The planned release date of The Brave New World expansion for Civilization 5 is still months ahead, with the release of North America being July 9 and the rest of the world following suit on July 12.
But here's a glimpse of what can be expected in a Brave New World. According to Shack News, you'll be taking off from the other half of the last expansion Gods of Kings, as the latest expansion is focused on adding depth and action to the other.
Culture and the arts are going to take a front seat, where you're going for a more holistic appeal to the cities you build, rather than interacting mostly with the nations through aggressive gameplay.
"Once the world is discovered and you're going through that threshold into the Industrial Age, you start running out of things to do as everyone is running up to finishing the game," said senior producer Dennis Shirk to Shack News.
"[In Brave New World], there's a lot focused on that second half of the game to make that race really compelling."
