Gaming Updates: Minecraft Coming Early to PS3, GameStick Set to Battle with PS4; Xbox One Gets iPlayer and SkyDrive
After the release of the Minecraft Xbox 360 Skyrim texture pack, developer 4J Studios has announced another piece of exciting news related to its future projects.
"We're hard at work getting Minecraft: PS3 Edition ready for testing just now. The other platforms & TU14 will be later," said 4J Studios in their official Twitter account.
This comes after Sony's visit to the developer's studio, potentially meeting up to talk about the future plans when it comes to the Minecraft franchise. As earlier reported, Minecraft is no longer confined to just the Xbox 360. Expanding from Minecraft Xbox 360, there will also be versions for the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, and the PS Vita, all of which will be developed by 4J Studios.
It may be that the PS3 version will come earlier than the PS4, as Minecraft was never reported to be a launch title for either of the next-gen consoles.
As far as their other projects are concerned, it may be that the next texture packs and the TU 14 update may take a while before completed. But it's good to know that there's already progress when it comes to the Minecraft franchise for other versions.

Xbox One Gets Two More Apps
At launch, the Xbox One adds another app to its list that will be available for access once you get the console on Nov. 22. This time, it's a more advanced and integrated version of SkyDrive.
In a report from The Verge, it states that SkyDrive is already integrated in the cloud storage so you can access photos and folders without opening the app.
One major notable change from the SkyDrive service on the Xbox 360 is that TV listings are already integrated, so you can easily view photos and access the Xbox Music service.
Another app that will be available on the Xbox One, though not at launch, is the BBC iPlayer. However, according to Eurogamer, there are no further details regarding the app, but at least it will come to it sometime in the future.

GamesStick Now Going to Battle with PS4's Release Date
Instead of getting more time on the shelves, GameStick has been delayed again, this time releasing on the exact date that the PS4 will also be out: Nov. 15.
There's another device that battles against the PS4 and Xbox One: Read about it here.
This means that not only will GameStick be putting up its strength against the much-anticipated console, but it may also either take away sales figures or have theirs taken away by the bigger console.
However, GameSpot reports that this may all be anything but intentional, as stated by developer PlayJam. "The date was pushed back to the 15th for no other reason than production and logistics delays," said Anthony Johnson, chief marketing of PlayJam, to GameSpot.
At least once the GameStick devices are out, a fix for freezing interface issues have already been fixed, so there will be smoother play once the device is released.
For those who aren't familiar with GameStick, it's an Android-based gaming device that runs on ARM Cortex AP CPU, 8 GB of storage, 1080p playback, and a microSD slot. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and even content filters for parental control. And for $80, you can get the GameStick console, Bluetooth control, a power adapter, and other cables for connections.
