The newest trailer for Epic Games' eagerly anticipated conclusion to the Gears of War trilogy was released last Saturday and it gave fans a look into the storyline of the newgame.

The multiplayer portion of Gears of War 3 has already been out in a month long beta but the new trailer finally gave gamers a hint of how the interspecies war will finally conclude. The beginning of the trailer shows the father of the lead character Marcus Fenix alive and well. Previous Gears games have shown that Marcus was tried and imprisoned because he deserted the battlefield to rescue his father. The enemies in Gears 3 look meaner and badder than ever. There are several sequences with new Lambent enemies and other human COG characters show up as well.

Gear of War is a third person shooter developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Games. Although it was initially an Xbox 360 exclusive game, a PC version was released a year after the console version. The series focuses on the troops of Delta Squad as they try to save the planet Sera from the Locust Horde. The player takes on the role of Marcus Fenix, a battle hardened veteran. The game also features several online multiplayer game modes for up to eight players. The Gears trilogy has been extremely popular and has since sold over five million copies. The game has also won several Game of the Year awards from various industry pundits.

Xbox 360 gamers can expect this game to hit on September 20.
