British fashion designer Victoria Beckham has been named as one of Glamour's 25th anniversary “Women of the Year” at the Carnegie Hall in New York.

Beckham was honoured for her successful career in the fashion business and her commitment to helping women as an International Goodwill Ambassador at the UNAIDS program.

During her acceptance speech, Beckham thanked David Beckham for supporting, loving and “inspiring” her every day, according to E! News. The mother-of-four revealed she wouldn’t be a successful businesswoman, UNAID ambassador and mother without her husband.

She added “Me standing here tonight accepting this award proves that if you dream big and you work hard, there are no limits to what you can achieve.”

In an interview on Good Morning America on Monday, the former Spice Girl member discussed how empowered she is to be one of Glamour's honorees, People reported. She was joined by Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive during the interview.

“This is an enormous amount to me. I love to support and empower women and that’s the message tonight. What Cindi [Leive] and Glamour are doing, just showing exactly what’s possible if we stick together and support each other. It means an enormous amount,” she said.

Beckham acknowledge that UNAIDS gave her the opportunity to make a difference to many people’s lives. Since 2014, she has been spending a lot of time in Africa with the United Nations.

“When UNAIDS invited me to be a Global Goodwill Ambassador it was a huge honour and something that meant an enormous amount to me. This is something that I'm very passionate about,” the famous designer said.

Speaking about her success, Beckham said it took her many years to realise that she has a “powerful voice.” “People will listen to what I say for whatever reason, and I can really make a difference,” she said

Glamour's “Women of the Year” honours women “who are doing something to make the world a better place for all women,” Leive explained. Other honorees of the ceremony include Elizabeth Holmes, Caitlyn Jenner, Misty Copeland, Reese Witherspoon, Cecile Richards, U.S. women’s national soccer team and five women who survived the Charleston shooting massacre.

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old businesswoman hopes that she is setting a good example to her children. Victoria is married to famous soccer player David Beckham and they have four kids -- Brooklyn Joseph, 16; Romeo James, 13; Cruz David, 10; and Harper Seven, 4.
