Global Preview of Google Nexus 5 Set on August 7 via the LG G2 New York Unveiling?
Specs, details and the likely look of Google Nexus 5 will be showcased on August 7 in New York as press invites from LG indicate that its new flagship, simply known as G2, will be officially introduced two weeks from now.
The LG G2, of course, is widely regarded in the Android world as the best possible template for the fifth-generation of Nexus smartphone from Google. The two firms are not confirming or denying anything but pundits are convinced their fresh collaboration will lead to the realisation of one of the most awaited handset in 2013.
Note that in 2012, Google and LG were responsible for the hugely popular Nexus 4 and many are assuming that it's only logical the duo would follow up on their considerable success last year.
Taking on the same pattern last year, the South Korean tech firm paves the way for the Nexus 5 arrival by first pulling the curtain off the G2, which was preceded by the Optimus G - the same device that in November 2012 was re-launched bearing the Nexus 4 imprint.
So in the next few weeks, the world will get to see what the G2 is all about and in the immediate aftermath, the real score about the Nexus 5.
Nothing is official at the moment but the G2 is seen to deliver the upgraded goods showed off by the Nexus 4 and Optimus G tandem, bannered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU that taps on a 2GB of RAM.
The main cam shooter is reported to be climbing up to 13MP from last year's 8MP. Running the whole LG G2 show is Jelly Bean 4.2, which should give significant edge for those planning to snap a Nexus 5 come its release date.
As a Google-centric device, Nexus 5 will stand on native Android version, meaning no LG skin on top of the mobile OS like the G2. Basing on persistent speculations, the smartphone will be the first to display the raw powers of Key Lime Pie or Android 5.0.
LG G2, according to CNET, is providing glimpses of its capabilities on August 7 with the actual availability to follow shortly after some weeks.
On the other hand, the Nexus 5 is expected to go live on Google Play Store by October 5 for online ordering with global retail partners of Google set to support the stock Android gadget's official release in the coming months.
