Gmail For Android Now Offers Unified Inbox And Conversation View
Android users who use more than one e-mail address can now access them all with the new single, unified inbox from Google’s own e-mail app. Before this was possible, users had to make use of third party e-mail managers just to manage multiple accounts.
Some people might find the need to manage more than one e-mail address, one for managing their business, while the other one will be used for communicating with family and friends. Students could also use a few accounts in addition to the primary school account that will be provided for them.
Gmail for android smartphones now offer a unified inbox. This new app update was only rolled out a week ago. Now that it is available, Android users can view more than one e-mail address in the same place by simply clicking the Menu button and clicking the All Inboxes option, as detailed in CNET.
Surprisingly, it does not only work for accounts under Google Mail. It also permits users to open other services, such as those of Yahoo, Outlook, as well as any other IMAP or POP accounts.
“However many e-mail addresses you have, today’s improvements to the Gmail app for android make it easy to manage all your mail form all your accounts – even Yahoo and Outlook – while you are on the go,” software engineer Regis Decamps said, according to CIO Today.
Plus, the newly updated app also offers Conversation view for the accounts as well. This makes it possible for the users to easily see an at-a-glance thread of all the e-mails that have been exchanged in a single back-and-forth discussion.
To give it an advantage over the other e-mail readers that can be found on the Google Play Store, the newly updated Google Mail app now also offers an auto-complete function, which allows users to easily and quickly search for certain e-mails within the account.
