According to the show's creators Michelle and Robert King, they hope that viewers will feel like they wish to start at the beginning of the entire series again, writes Entertainment Weekly. They said that the standard for the series finale was difficult to aspire for, but they hope that the end will lead the audience right back to the beginning.

The Kings also said that it was good how they kept Will Gardner’s death a secret for a long time. They appreciated that the network, actors and crew helped keep the mystery a secret in a creative way.

According to The Daily Beast, the series creators also said that there will be aspects in the series finale where aspects of Alicia’s happiness will be shown. She will most likely be featured achieving the balance that she always strived for since the beginning.

Ever since her husband was involved in the scandal, she was always torn between her own personal goals and being a good wife to her husband. The final episode will show how she finally found her true identity after seven seasons. More about Diane’s (Christine Baranski) plans to set up her own all-female law firm are also expected to be shown soon.

Will’s death was among the huge surprises of the show. However, Alicia’s romantic situations were only secondary to her experiences in her journey from being a politician’s wife to becoming a strong attorney with her own identity.

Season 7 showed how Alicia tried to return to her law practice and go through the different challenges that came with the job. Eventually, she was able to find herself as well as people she can surround herself with, even without the support of her estranged husband Peter (Chris Noth).

“The Good Wife” Season 7 episode 22 will air on May 9 on CBS. It also airs on Channel Ten in Australia. More updates and details are expected soon.
