Google Chromebook: Quick Insights on 'Cheap' Laptop -- Is it for you?
Google Chromebook is getting mixed reviews, but so far the downside is on the fact that it is not made for everyone. That is not so bad, considering its $250 price tag, isn't it?
Samsung-manufactured Google Chromebook is set to ship on October 26. This move is seen to be Google's move to draw buyers' attention away from Window 8. (Microsoft is scheduled to hold a Windows Phone 8 press event on October 29th.)
Google's unbelievably cheap laptop (so cheap that users doubt how much it could do) weighs only 1.1. kg. It has 11.6 inch 1080p matte screen display. It is built with Samsung Exynos 5 Dual Processor, 16GB storage, and 2GB of RAM, and WiFi connectivity. It comes with a front-facing VGA camera for video conferences, i.e. Google+ Hangouts. Its battery is meant to last 6.5 hours.
On the downside, users who have a bulky size of confidential files will have not much private space. Chromebook buyers will get a 100GB of cloud storage space, via Google Drive -- free for two years. But not everyone is keen on saving their files in the Cloud.
The Chromebook will work with students doing some regular paperwork. The device is light enough to carry around when doing special presentations or client meetings, so it is a good alternative for tablets and high-end laptops.
