Google Nexus 10 2 to be Released Alongside Nexus 8 to Counter iPad Line on Christmas?
Google Nexus 10 2 may be released alongside the Nexus 8, according to latest rumours.
Highlight Press reported that Google may release the Nexus 10 2 and Nexus 8 just in time for the holidays to battle the refreshed iPad line. iPad Air is now available for purchase since Nov 1 and its little brother, iPad Mini with Retina display, is bound for release on Nov 22. The new Apple tablets are quite popular, and the company is already anticipating strong demand for them.
For the Google Nexus 10 2, rumours claimed will pack an improved design and a boost on its specs and features. The tablet may packa full HD display with 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution, quad core Snapdragon 800 chip processor, 2 or 3 GB of RAM, Adreno 330 GPU, internal storage of up to 32 GB and Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The Google Nexus 10 2 is speculated to follow the pricing strategy of its predecessor with the 16 GB variant costing $399 and the 32 GB model costs $499.
However, to the dismay of many waiting fans, Google still has not announced the Nexus 10 2 release date. But, it did suggest that another tablet under 10 inches was coming.
A photo of the alleged Nexus 8 was spotted on the updated Android's "Apps & Entertainment" page. In the photo, which has been taken down, a lady is holding a tablet that appears to be neither the Nexus 7 nor Nexus 10 but is definitely running Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
As usual, Google offered no comment on the controversial photo seen on its Web site. After numerous reports were published about the photo, the company quickly modified the photo so that the lady is seen holding a Nexus 7.
Meanwhile, Online Gadget Store posted a photo of the alleged Nexus 8. The photo revealed the anticipated specifications of the 8-inch tablet. It says that Nexus 8 will pack an 8-inch LCD screen display with 1,200 x 1,920 pixel resolution. The device will be powered by quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz. It will also have a separate Adreno 320 graphics chip as well as 3 MP back camera and 2 MP front cam. It will run with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. Price starts at $199 for the 8 GB variant.
