Google Nexus 10 2, Press Render and Release Date after Android 4.4 KitKat Ships
An image of the upcoming Google Nexus 10 2 reportedly surfaced last week. The image was from an anonymous tipster. The individual forward the image showing what the second generation Nexus 10 tablet from Google will look like. The press render shows the interface and design of the device. What can people expect from Google's next slate?
According to a report by Phone Arena, an anonymous tipster sent them a message revealing the image of the Nexus 10 2. Whereas the first generation Nexus 10 was made under Samsung, there are reports citing Asus as the next maker of the slate.
Asus already created the first and second generation Nexus 7. So far, the partnership has been successful for Google as both devices received rave reviews and excellent sales. Analysts point out that Google will be gambling less if it stuck with a tried and tested provider like Asus. However, the internet giant has not released official announcements about the device.
Phone Arena provides a peak at the rendered images of the reported Nexus 10 2.
Other reports cite the following features to ship with the device: quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2560 x 1600 resolution and Android 4.4 KitKat. Analysts say the release can just around the corner as competitors like Nokia and Apple released their slates already. Apple announced their iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air line while Nokia introduced 2520.
It would be wise for Google to ship their products any time soon to get hold of the holiday market. Since Asus will be releasing released Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF701T featuring 13 hours of battery life and its 2560 x 1600 resolution IGZO screen, some are expecting the same features will find their way to the Nexus 10 2.
Google traditionally releases products within similar periods. Last year, it unleashed the Google Nexus 10 on October 29. The same could happen this year.
Android 4.4 KitKat
Google also still needs to release their updated Android 4.4 KitKat. Reports say the company plans to release the OS with two new devices: the Nexus 5 and 10. KitKat's Twitter account hinted that it is close. The first tweet revealed a dancing Android mascot with words made of Kitkat saying: "Everybody dance now
Another tweet revealed KitKat sticks spelling "This Is It."
The market is eager that Google will nail it before October ends.
