Google Nexus 10 2 release date is reported to be on October 14, which is 1 day ahead of the speculated iPad 5 announcement.

Latest rumours claimed that the next generation of Nexus 10 tablet is coming a day before the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date. It seems that Google may want to get ahead of Apple by showing off a device with high-end specs at a cheaper price.

According to rumours, the Google Nexus 10 2 will be manufactured by Asus following the success of the 7-inch tablet - Nexus 7 2. The previous Nexus 10 tablet was manufactured by Samsung.

Google Nexus 10 2 will be available on Google Play Store after its official launch in mid-October. The device is expected to be announced alongside Google Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat.

Last month, Android representative, Sundar Pichai, dropped hints that the Google Nexus 10 2 release date will be in the "near future."

However, Google has not released an official statement regarding rumours spreading about the launch date of the device. So, consumers will have to wait for the official announcement from Google regarding the release date, specs and features.

The Google Nexus 10 2 is speculated to pack a better design. It may pack a 8.9-mm frame to reduce the size and weight of the tablet. The device may also include new features such as a larger internal storage, expandable storage via MicroSD slot as well as LTE Connectivity support, which were absent in the previous Nexus 10.

The current Nexus 10 was introduced in November 2012. Thus, an October release date is not far-fetched. The upcoming Nexus 10 2 is expected to pack Snapdragon 800 processor, a hi-resolution display with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 2 GB RAM.

The current Nexus 10 has a 10-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and sporting a Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The device is available in16 or 32 GB variants. It also runs with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
