Google Nexus 10 2 Release Nears As Walmart Slashes Nexus Tablet Prices
Google Nexus 10 2 release date could be imminent as Walmart offers discount on Nexus tablets.
Walmart offers very attractive deals and discounts to the Nexus tablets. The 32 GB version of the first generation of Nexus 10 is regularly priced $499.99 but this is now priced $449, which saves the consumers $50.99.
The first generation of Nexus 7 tablet also received generous discounts. The 32 GB variant is normally priced $199.99 but this is now available for $179.99, which is 10% less. Walmart also offers a refurbished 16 GB Nexus 7 (2012) for $139, which is $10 off than its normal selling price.
The same retailer offers the second generation of Nexus 7 or the Nexus 7 (2013) for discounted price. Walmart slashed a dollar off the tablet's regular price. The tablet bears a tag price of $229.
Reducing the prices of tablets is a clear indication of the imminent release date of another device, which is the supposed Google Nexus 10 2. However, it is also normal that we could see discounts this gift-giving season.
Latest rumors claimed the device is expected to arrive on or before the Consumers Electronics Show 2014, which will be held next month in Las Vegas. There are speculations saying that Google may either hold a separate launch event for Google Nexus 10 2 or it may silently slip the device in the Google Play Store like what it did to the Nexus 5 smartphone. However, Google has not disclosed any data yet about the successor of the Nexus 10.
It is still unconfirmed whether ASUS or Samsung will take the helm in making the next 10-inch Google's tablet. Samsung developed the first generation of Nexus 10 but it fell below the expectations of many. Below are some of the rumored specs and features of the upcoming Google Nexus 10 2:
- 10.4-inch screen display with 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution
