Now that Google has unveiled both the LG Nexus 5 and the 2013 Nexus 7, all eyes are trained on the Nexus 10 2, which a new report said will likely have a release date some weeks prior to Christmas time.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the 2013 Nexus 10 production is currently in the final stage and the device should be out just before the holiday season kicks in. Quoting a post from Twitter user named @Rage06, GBM said that it is all system go for the supposed chief iPad Air rival from Google.

The news came out following the declaration from popular gadget news leaker @evleaks that the 10-inch Nexus 10 is up for a refresh in Q4 2013 and Asus is replacing as assembler of the stock full-sized Android.

As expected, Google issued no comment on the matter though @evleaks published a document to support the claim.

Then last week, the Samsung-made Nexus 10 went missing from Google Play Store, further stoking speculations that an upgrade is indeed forthcoming with the possibility that debut time is in conjunction with the Nexus 5 launch on Nov 1.

Indeed the KitKat 4.4-powered smartphone was outed this week but the Nexus is nowhere to be found.

Android watchers believe that like in precious occasions, the large-screen Nexus tablet is entering the market minus the fanfare and the likelihood is it will be out before the end of November. Or the latest would be first week of December 2013, a month after the iPad Air started selling.

Since the slate is geared to tough it out with the slim and light 9.7-inch iPad Air, the expected form-factor, specs and features should measure up to what the new regular-size iOS 7 tablet has delivered to the table.

The build, according to numerous Android blog posts, should have been significantly trimmed down, making for a reduced footprint when compared to the first Nexus 10.

The 10-inch screen will remain the same but the display resolution should be bumped up to Full HD level of 2560 x 1600, easily surpassing the already impressive Retina rendition of the iPad Air at 2048 x 1536.

It will be a monster device, drawing its power from a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU and likely tapping from 2GB of RAM. Also, there should be a dedicated graphic engine, probably in the Adreno 330 GPU that the Nexus 5 is flexing.

Of course, KitKat 4.4 will be on board to bring the Nexus 10 into its full glory, flashing all the amazing and killer features that Google has cooked up for its new Android sweets.

As mentioned, it should be a 2013 holiday release date for the Nexus 10 so the waiting period is from late November through early December, meaning there is a chance the gadget will be part of the Nov 29 Black Friday sales fever.
