The holidays will be a battleground for some of the biggest names in tech. Google, Apple and Samsung will all be releasing their latest slates for the Christmas season. What can we expect from the second Google Nexus 10, iPad mini 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1?

Google Nexus 10

The Google Nexus 10 should just be around the corner though Google remains mysterious about it. A report cited sighting of the "Google Asus Nexus 10" in inventory listing confirming the upcoming tablet. Expected price is around $399. This means Google may be including some premium features if it will ask a price tag comparatively higher than the previous generation.

The device is also expected to be a flagship product of the Android 4.4 KitKat. It was previously revealed that Google will also be sticking to Asus for the maker of the device. Asus made the first and second generation Nexus 7. Both devices were highly praised and received thus it makes sense for Google to stick to the partnership.

Other reported features include 2560x1600 pixel display and a Snapdragon chipset.

iPad mini 2

According to reports, Apple will be releasing their iPad mini in an event on October 22. Expected features include higher pixel camera, Retina screen, Touch ID fingerprint sensor, upgraded RAM and better processor.

Reports also noted that Apple's upcoming iPad Mini 2 will be thicker compared to the previous model. The thicker frame aims to accommodate the higher screen resolution. According to sources, the second iPad mini will be 0.2mm wider and 0.3mm thicker.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Another great slate to consider for the holidays is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition). The device runs on Android 4.3 and features a portable design, light weight and loaded cameras. There is also the S Pen with a number of capabilities.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 runs on quad-core (US Wi-Fi, LTE) processor or fast octa-core (global). It has reliable dual cameras including additional software tools. The slate also provides refreshed version of the software, hardware and design of the first generation Note. The following upgrades are as follows:
