Google Nexus 10 has finally received the Android 4.4.1 Kitkat OS update.

Last week, IBTimes AU reported that Nexus 10 may not receive the 4.4.1 update after a server log spotted by Google showed that Nexus 10 is missing from the list of devices that will receive the update. However, end users reported happily that the latest upgrade is now rolling out to the first generation of Nexus 10 tablet.

As expected, the update is rolled out in a staggered manner so not all owners will receive the notification right away. However, for those who are confident in doing it by themselves may download the software from Google's Update server.

Experts said the latest 4.4.1 update will bring bug fixes to some of the problems and issues found in the previous version, including the camera bug fix for Nexus 5. Other users complained on fast depleting battery life and touchscreen and lag issues.

Android 4.4 KitKat OS was launched Nov. 1 alongside the Google Nexus 5 and brought new and improved features such as new Android interface and updated Phone app, which adds integrated searchable contacts, directories in other Google apps and even nearby businesses. Kitkat OS also brought the "immersive mode" that would hide all of your other open apps to allow you to focus on the content you are actually using. A revamped hangouts app will also throw all of your text messages and video calls into the mix so you are not backing out to find them in another app.

Samsung-made Google Nexus 10 features a 10.1 inches screen display armed with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The device is powered by a dual core A15 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The tablet is available in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants.

Google Nexus 10 was released with the 4.2 version Jelly Bean OS will get the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS update in the coming weeks. Google's tablet also packed a 5MP back camera and 1.9MP front-facing camera. The tablet also boasts an amazing 9,000 mAh battery life.
