Apple's iPad has been the standard for tablets for quite some time now. Specs wise, it has been regarded as one of the best around. People are willing to pay more for better performance. That is until Google decided to come up with its own line of tablets through Nexus.

While it can be challenging to find an Android slate that can match Apple's iPad to the core, Google's Nexus series changed all that. Starting with the Nexus 7, Apple finally met a match. Now that Google reportedly paired with Samsung to bring the Nexus 10, another powerful model will be around the corner.

As some sources say, the upcoming Nexus 10 can arguably be one of the best slates out there.

For starters, the Nexus 10 offers will reportedly offer a screen resolution only a handful can match. It also comes with a powerful motherboard chip assuring users of its performance. Screen resolution is reported to be at 2560 x 1600. The screen measures 10.1 inches while pixel density is at 300ppi. The pixel density is greater than the Retina on Apple's iPad.

What does the resolution offer people?

Just put together a 27-inch monitor from Apple or the Cinema Display but add more pixels. Compact this to 10 inches and this is the Nexus 10. Google offers people a device with incredible quality it should give any consumer the right value for their money.

Likewise, it will also come with a Gorilla Glass 2 screen saver. This automatically switches the device to hibernate mode. This is crucial for 10-inch slates like the Nexus 10. The Nexus 10 frame will be made of plastic. A report also noted that the camera will be secured by a rubber material around.

Because it is not as heavy as the iPad, the Nexus 10 will be easier to carry around. People can also use it on their laps more comfortably for a longer time. Other reported features include Exynos 5250 processor running with two cores clocked at 1.7 GHz plus 2B RAM. The two cores will work following Cortex-A15 technology. This is a notch above the Cortex-A9 found in competitor models.

It is best to wait for official announcement from Google for the finalized list of specs and details. There are reports saying Google may have partnered with Asus instead of Samsung. The company has yet to make a clarification about the matter. Google's Nexus 5 will also be coming this October.
