Google has reportedly approved the use of Huawei’s in-house Kirin application processor to power the 2015 Nexus smartphone, replacing the Nexus 6. The Google Nexus 2015 phone has not been announced yet by the manufacturer but its rumours are picking up pace steadily. In the past, Google Nexus smartphones such as the Nexus 4 in 2012, the Nexus 5 in 2013 and the Nexus 6 in 2014. The Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5 were built by LG and the last year’s flagship was manufactured by Motorola. Rumours are rife that this year Google will collaborate with LG to release the successor model for the Nexus 6.

According to a International Business Times report from April 2, the Nexus 2015 will be based on the LG G4 that is going to release on April 28. LG is also building another flagship device called the LG G4 Note that is currently under the wraps.

Its leaked photos have surfaced and since the device has not been confirmed, speculations are rife that the device may actually roll out as Nexus 2015 smartphone, reports IBTimes. The leaked images show that it has 5.6-inch screen and will come equipped with a stylus.

The LG Nexus 2015 smartphone will be built with both plastic and metal components, reports the Korea Times. As far as the display of the LG G4 is concerned, the South Korean tech giant has confirmed that its 5.5-inch IPS display will support Quad HD resolution. It will produce richer and accurate colours.

Traditional displays deliver 100 percent colour gamut. However, the one that will come with the LG G4 support 120 colour gamut. It will offer a pixel density of 538 ppi.

It further adds unlike the conventional way of placing the touch panel on the display, the LG G4 will have the touch sensor embedded inside the display. The result is that display will not accommodate more space which will allow the device to support thinner design and very responsive touch support.

The LG G4 is powered by Snapdragon 808 chipset, 3 GB RAM, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP selfie camera. The LG G4 is rumourd to lose its flagship position, claims GSM Arena as the LG G Flex 2 that came out earlier this year is packed with high-end Snapdragon 810 chipset.

If the LG G Flex 2 is the flagship of this year, the rumoured LG G4 Note may be born as Nexus 2015 phone. However, as of this writing, there is no confirmation from Google on the specs and features of the Nexus 2015 smartphone. Amazon is selling the Google Nexus 6 with an attractive price cut. As the time approaches for the release of the sucessor Nexus 2015 phone nears, more deals are expected to come up.
