Google Nexus 5 Features Hinted by Moto X as Insider Says Motorola Working on Device
A post from an insider claimed that Motorola is working on the upcoming Google Nexus 5.
Taylor Wimberly, who was formerly associated with AndroidandMe, said that Motorla is currently working on the Google Nexus 5 release date. In his Google+ account, he posted:
"Motorola will release a Nexus smartphone in Q4 (that is not the Moto X)."
Mr. Wimberly first tipped off the Moto X before it was released and most of his statements ended up accurate. Thus, he became a reliable source in any rumour and tip on everything about Motorola.
Thus, Google Nexus 5 features may be based from the hardware specs of the newly-released Moto X
Moto X release date happened last August 1 and boasts of a 4.7-inch AMOLED screen display; Architecture Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System paired with 2GB of RAM; 4.2.2 version of Android Jelly Bean OS; 10MP rear shooter and 2MP face camera; and 2200mAh battery capacity. The device is currently available in 16GB and 32GB variants. Consumers can choose from 18 different hues of the handset.
Moto X will be available later this month for $199 with two-year contract via major US carriers. It is reported that Motorola will slash the price of the device for the rest of the world. The cheaper version of the device will arrive in certain markets including the Europe and Canada.
Motorola is also set to unveil a Play Store variant of the device to cater consumers worldwide. This particular variant will be available in Google Play Store.
The aforementioned features are very far from the high end rumoured specs of Google Nexus 5.
Rumours claimed that the Google Nexus 5 will include a 5-inch Full HD screen display; an eight-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM; 13MP rear camera; 3300mAh battery capacity and the latest Android OS. The handset is rumoured to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and will support 4G/LTE connectivity, which was missing in the Nexus 4.
However, Google has not released an official statement about Google Nexus 5 release date, specs, and features.
